WesleyLife is excited to make available the opportunity for a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to step into a new role as our Associate Executive Director for WesleyLife's Network Support Center. You will become a part of WesleyLife's main office located in Johnston, IA. A Typical Day as our Associate Executive Director:

  • Operational Leadership and Strategy Execution: Engage in the organization's operational priorities and strategies, ensuring seamless execution of assigned and delegated initiatives.

  • Dynamic Interim Assignments: Step into various roles across the organization during vacancies or assist with new projects and services. This requires adaptability, quick learning, and the ability to adjust priorities and leadership styles based on the situation.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and leadership to assigned teams, including involvement in hiring, selection decisions, and managing team performance. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Exposure to Strategic Initiatives: Participate in high-level meetings and special events that expose you to strategic discussions, planning activities, board interactions, and the expectations of a WesleyLife Executive Director. This includes:

  • Expanded Executive Circle meetings

  • Board/Committee meetings

  • Project Teams

  • Budget Planning meetings and discussions

  • Leadership Circle meetings (community-specific as well as quarterly learning sessions)

  • Project leadership opportunities

  • Creation of Strategic Tools and Plans: Develop work products, tools, business plans, and other resources that support the development and implementation of WesleyLife programs and services.

In summary, our Associate Executive Director must be a mission-focused and values-based leader who demonstrates the ability to focus on results. The ability to inspire the team around a shared set of expectations and outcomes as well as excellent communication and people skills are important for this role. Compensation for this position is strong and relocation support will be provided. (Residency in or near the Des Moines metro, Iowa is required.) Please note- you must currently hold your Nursing Home Administrator license to be considered for this position.

  • Ability to lead a project and/or participate in a strategic-level initiative as evidenced by your ability to identify the problem, work through solutions, engage and collaborate effectively with others, and achieve the goals of the project or initiative.

  • Prior experience in a hospitality, healthcare or senior living services environment.
